Local Natives | Who Knows Who Cares | A Take Away Show

The last amazing concert I attended belonged to Local Natives. A wonderful birthday present if I do say so myself (thanks Josh). They never let down, here featured on La Blogotheque :

La Blogotheque is one of my favorite websites of all time! Independent filmmaker, Vincent Moon from Paris, created a little revolution between cinema and music. When you visit La Blogotheque, you are sure to find one of your favorite bands, as they put on a show for the unsuspecting public. It’s quite a beautiful things, once people realize what is going on. Among my favorite moments captured are: Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero’s, Teagan and Sara, and Fleet Foxes. Be warned this is highly addicting. Oh and, a bit tricky, I have to rely on my much faded french to navigate me and piece the narrative together, but the beautiful part is, it doesn’t matter if you can’t read it.

Maybe wikipedia explains it best, “The sessions are usually two or three tracks filmed improvised in an unusual environment and as such they often had a rough and ready, demo-like feel, somewhere between a live performance and a finished music video. These live, unusually staged performances differ from the artifice of traditional music videos in favor of single-take, organic and primarily acoustic sessions.”
